I’M STILL HERE! I’ve just been busy.

Hey. It’s Abby (and George).

It’s been A WHILE. Partly because I’m running my business, trying to figure out how to be a mom, and honestly this isn’t a priority. I’m hopping on that New Year’s resolution train though. Let’s look at my checklist:

  1. Eat Better. You’re going to hate me but I love Big Macs and a sprite. I also love hotdogs but I need to just stop that. On the other end of the spectrum I love caviar and whole grilled branzino. I have a wide palate.

  2. Workout. Yeah, we all say it. We do it for a good stretch and somehow fall out of it. Well, me at least. Also, I’m tired and lazy. Also I’m strapped for time with work but I need to fix that.

  3. Continue to do one kind thing a day for someone else. I like tagging and reposting my friends on social media so more people can see how awesome they are. I like doing little acts of kindness and it doesn’t have to be complicated. I think I’ll just be like that forever.

  4. Check ins. Life is nuts y’all. We’re not ok. We say we’re ok but we’re probably a little not ok. We’re busy trying to figure out our lives and forgetting to check on everyone else. And I say this to anyone who sees this. I’m always here to talk or listen. You need a hug? I’ll give you the best hug ever. You need a place to sit? Come visit my shop. Hungry? Have a snack on me.

  5. Travel more. I’m getting a jumpstart here in Bermuda as I’m typing this and George is peacefully napping next to me. We have a beautiful condo on Hamilton Harbour and I need to prioritize work and life better. The last year has been all sorts of hectic and stressful but I made it. I want to do things differently for next year. Set more boundaries. Make more time for family. Go see new places. Even a day trip would be cool if anyone wants to hang with us!

  6. Date nights. Dates with my husband, breakfast, lunch, linner, dinner, basically any meal. George is at that stage where I feel comfortable leaving him with someone now. Double dates with friends. Dates with girlfriends. See? I haven’t been prioritizing well over the past year. Put me in your calendars!

  7. Stop letting silly people get to me. Listen. Running a small business is a lot harder than it seems. I do it alone and there’s no one helping me except for Camille who sells at the farmers market for me on Saturday morning. I’m finally all settled in and it really took about a year to get things in order the way I wanted them to be. I set my days and hours the way I needed to in order to stay sane and keep my family close. I’m going to remind you that this is MY business. If something about my business doesn’t work for you I’m not sorry. I don’t think I should have to apologize. Everything I’ve done is intentional to make it work for me and it seems to be working for most of you. If I miraculously win the jackpot I’ll hire someone to help me but until then, Thursday-Saturday 10AM-3PM are the hours. That’s that. Also, stop yelling at me and trying to put me down. It’s unkind and kind of weird to me.

  8. Self care. I’m pretty good at that when I can sneak a couples hours in for a massage or pedi. Shoutout to Dr King, Diane and anyone at Pro Care! Oh and everyone at Fishbones. IYKYK.

  9. Write more. Keep you updated. Share all the fun stuff!

That’s it. I don’t really stick to my resolutions but I’ll try. I like my list. It’s straightforward and I think it’s attainable. Anyway, it’s a beautiful day here in Bermuda. Sun is starting to pop out and I need a second cup of coffee before we get ready to enjoy the day.

BYE!
