Well, hi! Are we loving New England still?

I’m back from Bermuda and I’m up to my knees in snow! Trev snow blowed, I shoveled..kind of, I snow blowed (not great) at my parents house, shoveled an entire mountain of snow the plow lovingly left me right before I pulled into my driveway tonight, made snow angels. You know, the fun New England winter activities we all have missed. I’m already sore and my fingers are tingly as I write this.

Remember in my last blog I said I wanted to eat better? Well, listen. I haven’t started that yet. I scarfed down some dill pickle potato chips while George napped this afternoon, ate some leftover fries from Fishbones from Friday, I think I had breakfast but I ate at like 530AM so that was a really long time ago. I had like A cup of water.. if that. I had to take some ibuprofen before laying down for the night so it was probably half a sip. While we’re on the subject of water, you know what probably drives my husband nuts? I collect drinks on my bedside table. I think one time I hit the world record of like 9 cups. Water, tea, coffee, maybe a yogurt cup? That counts. And get this. THEY’RE ALL FULL. I pour lovely chilled filtered water into my favorite cups and always think that tonight will be the night I finish a glass. Nope. Never. Trev sometimes uses the water to feed the plants I neglect. You should see his orchids. Just gorgeous.

Update: I currently have one glass of water next to me. Have not taken a single sip. Can’t see myself taking one in the near future.

Ok back to real life. Note to self: drink more water. Eat less crappy food. I watched You Are What You Eat on Netflix and I’m kind of thinking of going plant based again. I’d do it differently this time because I felt like I was slowly dying last time and I probably was. Oh and if you do watch it and haven’t tried or heard of Miyokos Creamery, try them out. I love the vegan butter and garlic herb spread. When people go plant based they say they’d miss cheese the most but I’d be ok. Yes, duh. I make cheese boards but when I was pregnant I couldn’t be near charcuterie meats and I’m forever broken. I’m superrr lactose intolerant so I shouldn’t be snacking on that anyway. I like vegan cheeses actually. There’s so many out there and some of them are really cool. Really innovative and changing how we eat. Next.

What else did I want to blog about besides my food problems? An upcoming event! GALENTINE’S! Obviously it’s at The Druzy Rose. I have zero space for fun stuff in my shop. I also just purchased a zillion dollars worth of catering containers to create my little DIY charcuterie bar. You choose cheeses, meats, fruits, veggies, dip, etc. You arrange your cute heart shaped board, snap a pic, tag all the vendor guests and everyone votes on the best board to win a wicked awesome gift. Something like that. I don’t have the full deets all in stone yet. There’s going to be amazing guests doing amazing things so you’ll need to RSVP. This is taking place Friday, February 9th, 5-8? Or 3-8? I can’t remember. I’ll find out. Kristin?

Also I need to update my website and add classes. Just regular old cheese board making classes. 2023 out- themed classes. 2024 in- regular classes… with maybe some extra fun treats? Swag bags?

And I think this is the last season for Maxwell’s Winter Market. Absolutely devastating. I started my business there in 2018. I’m sad but my market manager is probably dancing in her pants and ready for vacay mode forever.

Speaking of vacation, flights to Bermuda are like $199 so get on it! I’m going to try to get there maybe like 2 or 3 more times before George turns 2 in August because I don’t want to pay for his ticket just yet. We flew the new BermudAir that just opened in September. It’s meh. Nothing spectacular (yet) but then again, getting to and from Bermuda is super quick and painless. Who needs first class? Or even business class? Heck, I pray there’s seats near the bathroom when I’m booking. Easier with a toddler who loves to toddle. I have flying with a toddler solo down to a T. Tee? You know what I mean. We left the ground at 8AM Bermuda time was back home at like 1030AM our time Friday and had myself an entire day (Fishbones leftovers). It’s just an hour ahead. If you haven’t been I highly recommend! I think there’s a few condos up for grabs! Let’s be neighbors!

I think that’s it for now. Currently taking catering orders but the shop won’t be open for walk ins until the 18th. Closed the 13th and 14th though. See y’all soon!

Enjoy the snow! Make some hot cocoa for me!
