Sunday Funday (may come to an end).

Sunday is my slowest day so I’m thinking about switching to winter hours and then tweaking my hours again when it gets warmer out. I have a few customers trickling in but I’m only open 10-1 and I’m usually out of all of the fun food stuff like sammies and snack boxes. It’s also pretty drafty in there so maybe the walkers are thinking it’s nice and cozy and then step in and it’s like 56 degrees. My door has this mail slot that just leaks in cold air constantly as does the door but maybe that’s something to ask my landlord. He just upgraded my outdoor light so no more sprinting to the car in the dark! Thanks, Charlie!

Side note: everyone keeps asking if I have coffee and tea. I don’t, but it’s on my list of things to do. Might want to get LittleTown Coffee on board with something seeing as I only have a small French press and it’s not NFS certified for my shop. Maybe could do a self serve type thing? What do you think? I don’t want to be a coffee shop, obviously. Coffee would make a nice little addition though. I’ll get back to you on that. I thought about bottling up some fun lemonades too like I’ve done in the past but that might be something I ask the board of health first. Food retail has so many rules!

Ok, back to my shop being a freezer. I finally installed a Nest thermostat so I can set a schedule through the app. Gas bills were super high last month at home and the shop so I wanted to see if this could save some $$$. I ran back to Costco on Wednesday and grabbed a second one and installed it at my house already. Let’s hope this winter isn’t too cold! I’d normally leave the temp a bit lower but now that we have a baby we keep it a little higher for him.

Did you know I’m at the market on Saturdays? The market at Maxwell’s is always so fun! It’s nice to meet new people and have a little chat. I grew up in Chelmsford and live here so sometimes I run into people I haven’t seen in years and catching up is exciting. The market was especially busy right in the beginning and I wonder how parking is. Vendors park across the way lining the street towards the Byam School but do people have to drive all the way down there and walk all the way to Maxwell’s? Good thing it was nice yesterday!

Second side note: just wanted to let you know that it’s dangerous being set up next to Purple Carrot Bread. They have these pecan pie squares that are SO good. I bought the last 4 and left the display one in case someone wanted it. Someone bought it. That’s all I wanted to tell you. Go buy one before I buy them all next weekend!

I’ll be at the market next Saturday until February 25th so drop by and say hi, peruse all of our amazing vendors and support your local businesses! 24 Maple Rd. 10AM-1PM.

Oh, and sign up for some classes. Head over to the EVENTS page for some fun!
